What do you actually think of yourself?Most people when I ask this question respond with things like “I’m a good person” “I try to do the right thing” “I treat others well” or the like. However when I asked them if they ever put themselves down or insult themselves the list of names goes on and on and on. Things like silly, duffer, clown, idiot, stupid, moron, lazy, retarded, f#%€ wit the list is almost endless. This is the true reflection of how you feel about yourself especially when you don’t do something or fail at something.Look at the way you talk about yourself to yourself and to others, what words are you using to describe how you are or how you act? You are exactly as you say you are, so why not say positive things or even put a positive slant on your words. Start using things like “I’m getting better” “I’m working to change this habit” “I’m allowed to not succeed as long as I learn” “I’m doing the best I can”.
